This Privacy Policy explains what information GardenSwap ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use the GardenSwap mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account information: the email address and password you use to sign up and sign in.
• Profile information: your username, bio, and profile photo, if you choose to add them.
• Listing information: titles, descriptions, categories, prices, and photos you add to listings, along with a pickup address you provide, which we convert to an approximate map location.
• Location: with your permission, we use your device's location to show you nearby listings and to set the location of listings you create. You can decline to share your location and enter a location manually instead.
• Photos and camera access: if you choose to add a photo, we access your photo library or camera only at the moment you use that feature, to let you select or take a picture.
• Content you create: listings, messages, and other content you post in the app, including star ratings and reviews you leave on other members' profiles.
• Purchase information: if you subscribe to GardenSwap Plus, subscription payments are handled by RevenueCat and Apple — we never see or store your card details.
• Identifiers: device and account identifiers used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app.

Diagnostic and crash data: if the app crashes or encounters an error, we automatically collect technical information — such as crash logs, device type, operating system version, and app performance data (like launch time) — to help us find and fix problems. This data is not used to identify you personally.

How We Use It

We use the information above to operate the marketplace, specifically to:

• Show your listings, profile, ratings, and reviews to other users of the app.
• Show you nearby listings and set the location of listings you create.
• Connect buyers and sellers through in-app messaging.
• Process and manage your GardenSwap Plus subscription.
• Maintain the security of your account and respond to support requests.

Sharing

Your listings, profile, and any ratings or reviews you leave are visible to other users of the app, since that's how the marketplace works. We do not sell your personal information to third parties or use it for advertising.

We share information with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes:

• Supabase: our backend infrastructure provider, which stores account data, listings, messages, photos, and reviews securely.
• RevenueCat: manages subscription purchases and tells us whether your GardenSwap Plus subscription is active.
• Apple: processes all in-app subscription payments directly; GardenSwap never receives your card or bank details.
• Sentry: helps us detect and diagnose app crashes and performance issues, using the diagnostic data described above.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your listings, photos, messages, reviews, profile, and login are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Your Choices

• You can update your profile information at any time from Edit Profile in the app.
• You can decline to share your device location and enter a location manually instead.
• You can edit or delete any rating or review you've left at any time.
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Account → Delete Account in the app.
• You can also request account deletion or ask questions about your data by emailing support@gardenswap.app.

Children's Privacy

GardenSwap is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
